Splitting the subscription

You can share the cost between you

One of you pays the app store, and the other can go halves on it — through the same shared costs as everything else.

  1. 01

Whoever subscribes proposes sharing it, entering the amount they were actually charged.

  2. 02

The other parent agrees to it, the same way they would with any other shared cost.

  3. 03

From then on, each renewal shows up as an ordinary shared cost at your agreed split.

  4. 04

Either of you can stop the arrangement at any time. It only affects future renewals.

Billing questions

Do we both have to pay?
No. One subscription covers the whole family. One parent subscribes and both of you get it, along with every grandparent, step-parent or carer attached to the family.
How does the free trial work?
Both plans start with 30 days free. You are not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
Can we change plan later?
Yes, in either direction, from your device settings. Moving up takes effect straight away; moving down takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
What happens if the parent who pays cancels?
You are both told, and it runs to the end of the period already paid for. The other parent can pick it up at any point. Paying carries no extra powers in the app at all — it simply shows as "paid by" a name.
Why are the prices in Australian dollars?
Because that is where we are. Your own app store charges you the equivalent in your local currency, so a New Zealand account is billed in New Zealand dollars.
Can I get a refund?
Subscriptions are billed by the app store rather than by us, so refunds go through them. You can cancel at any time from your device settings and keep using Halven until the period you have paid for ends.
